Humans of the Earth Gallery

Bea Lamar

Lebanese-American artist Bea Lamar channels her Levantine roots, ancestral knowledge, and deep environmental awareness into an art practice that navigates the intersections of human existence and its unseen forces. Her work challenges perceptions and reframes the role of art as a space for connection and transformation.

In 2016, Lamar founded Humans of the Earth, an artist-run initiative addressing the urgent need for creative spaces that confront environmental and social challenges. Initially a gallery, it expanded into a dynamic cultural hub where artists, scientists, and communities convened to share knowledge, creativity, and spark collective action.

Humans of the Earth became a stage for bold ideas, supporting projects that dismantled conventional boundaries between art, advocacy, and environmental stewardship. Its programming invited audiences to rethink their relationship with the planet and their role within its ecosystems.

Now based in Pasadena, California, on the ancestral lands of the Hahamog’na Tongva people, Lamar continues to shape a language rooted in interconnectedness. Her immersive installations, including Silence and Sacred Breaths, transform complex themes into environments for quiet contemplation, engaging in profound and personal ways.

Lamar remains dedicated to Humans of the Earth’s mission of supporting artists and reimagining art’s role in responding to the most pressing issues of our time. Humans of the Earth continues to serve as a vital platform for dialogue, creative innovation, and meaningful action, embodying Lamar’s vision of a more connected and conscious world.
